This paper is concerned with a combining technique of adaptive array antenna and multiple access interference (MAI) cancellation to increase system capacity in wideband code division multiple access (W-CDMA) systems. With fading vector channels and base stations using coherent demodulation, the performance of the proposed combining multi- user detector is analyzed through several simulations and the effects of power and cross-correlation thresholds of interfering signals are also analyzed. The experimental results show that the combining array antenna system achieves improvement in overall system capacity with reduced system complexity.
